Colts Sunday Night Preview
With tonights prime time game just hours away, let's break down what the Colts need to do to win. Marvin Harrison and Anthony Gonzalez are both out with injuries. This means Reggie Wayne will have to play much better than he did last week against New England. Expect Dallas Clark to play a huge role in the passing game as well.
The Chargers are coming off of an embarrassing week, allowing 296 yards on the ground to Adrian Peterson. The Chargers will be hungry to bounce back from that performance, and need this win more than the Colts. The Chargers have struggled to a 4-4 record midway through the season, while the Colts hold a relatively comfortable division lead after Tennessee's loss earlier today.
Manning and the rest of the Colts offense has been out of sync over the past two weeks, and I don't expect that change drastically this week. However, expect the Colts defense to come up huge tonight. The Colts D is designed with speed in mind, which will help to negate Tomlinson. This will put pressure on Phillip Rivers and force him to throw the ball more than the Chargers would like.
Prediction: The Colts Defense picks off Rivers twice and slows down LT just enough for the win. 27-21 Colts.
