High School Roundup

It was a night featuring 2 of the nations biggest rivalries. While Miami Northwestern disposed of Jackson with ease (45-0), fans in the "Muck" were not left disappointed. Both Pahokee and Glades Central headed into Friday night undefeated (9-0), with Pahokee ranked 14th in the nation by Sports Illustrated. In the end it was the Blue Devils from Pahokee prevailing 24-14.

In other action, Deerfield Beach fell to South Plantation 10-7. The loss was the second in a row for the Bucks.

And now onto our Knights of Highlands Christian. The Knights finished out the season with a 45-0 win over the Summit Saints. For the Knights, the win helped to erase many of the year's frustrations. T. Boharic completed 9 of 12 passes for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns. Seniors Justin Gray, Austin Adair, Delmis Lewis, and Andrew Barnard all finished out their high school careers with solid performances. Justin Gray scored two touchdowns for the Knights, while Austin Adair also added a rushing TD. Delmis Lewis made a beautiful one handed interception, and Andrew Barnard went a perfect 6 for 6 on extra points while also adding a 45 yard Field Goal.

"Miami's Vice" Ramblings of a Heat Fan

8:05 PM
Tipoff time. Just seeing Ricky Davis in the starting lineup brings on a variety of emotions. On one hand it's great to have an athletic swingman that can score points. But, on the other hand, JWill is already talking about "selfish" play. I wonder where that's coming from? Umm . . . Ricky I'm looking at you.

8:11 PM
Riley had a 12:01 AM practice on the opening day of training camp? And on top of that he claimed that this was supposed to be fun? Pat may be losing touch with this generation of players. Somehow, I can't envision the squad showing up with their party hats on.

8:24 PM
Miami's down 20-13 and yet I still have the feeling this game is all but over.

8:32 PM
Penny Hardaway is in the game. Once again Penny Hardaway is in the game . . . and it's not 1998. God, the Heat are in trouble.

9:09 PM
Well, It's a competitive game at halftime, but my confidence isn't sky high. The Heat need D.Wade about as much as Clark Kent needs his glasses. Dwyane is the Heat's disguise, much like those glasses. He has the ability to hide the ineptness of this year's team by carrying them night in and night out.

10:23 PM
0-4 and counting. The questions is how many games can the Heat lose before Wade returns? Can they come back from an 0-10 start to make the playoffs? I certainly don't like their chances.

Sunday News and Notes

D Mac is finally back in the mainstream Heisman discussion after his record breaking performance (Correction: after further review the record tying performance) last night against South Carolina. 323 yards and a 48-36 win made for a great night for Hogs fans. The win moved Arkansas up to 4th in the SEC West. The Razorbacks are now also officially bowl eligible, with 6 wins. Next week the Hogs travel to "Ol' Rocky Top" for another SEC matchup against the Vols. Prediction: 34-27 Razorbacks Win.

SUPER BOWL 41 1/2 . . . It's Finally Here

After a season full of anticipation, the biggest regular season game in history has finally arrived. With all the buildup and anticipation, can the game live up to the hype? I expect it to not only live up to the hype, but surpass it. Look for the Colts to fall behind early, gather their composure in the 2nd quarter, tie the game up in the 3rd, then pull ahead for a 37-23 win in the 4th quarter.

It Sucks To Get Robbed

Good lord, what a hassle this is. All my credit cards were stolen out of my car, along with my drivers license, my insurance card, some bank checks, and some cash. Now I have to go through the trouble of canceling all my credit cards, changing my bank account, getting a new drivers license, and getting a new insurance card.

On top of all this, the cop that's out there dusting for prints right now doesn't seem like he's too eager to catch this guy. I have the locations where my credit card was used today along with the amounts of all the purchases. It would be simple to check the security cameras at the 7-11 and catch whoever did it. But, I won't hold my breath waiting for any results.

Sunday . . . It's Peyton's Day

2:19 PM
How the Colts are winning this game, I have no idea. They have played like absolute crap and lead 10-7. If they play mediocre in the second half, they're gonna blow Carolina out.

2:51 PM
I feel sorry for every person who paid money to watch this game in London. The Dolphins are beyond terrible, and I'm rooting for an 0-16 year.

2:57
Somehow in a matter of 30 minutes the Rams have managed to blow their 14 point lead on Cleveland. It's going to come right down to the wire this season in the battle for the worst team of all time.

3:23 PM
Wow, Manning just got drilled. Seeing him use the smelling salts causes all Colts fans' hearts to skip a beat.

5:52 PM
The Pats look unstoppable . . . I'm not feeling confident about the Colts playing them next week. I'll do a lot of praying in the following 6 days.

6:45
45-0, about 9 minutes left . . . yea I'm worried.
